Logo Design Brief

We need a logo design for a new project called CASCADE. The project aims to bring together higher education institutions from across the UK working on finding sustainable and socially just solutions to the biodiversity crisis, and connect them to government agencies, NGOs and industry that require science-based research to inform their decision making. We work with the Convention on Biological Diversity, DEFRA, and other partners across Oxford, Leeds and Newcastle universities. We would like a simplistic logo which involves a waterfall (ie. a cascade), with the spray at the bottom of the waterfall turning into biodiversity (eg. flowers and leaves). We have an initial idea (hand drawn and created on Microsoft paint purely for a rough sketch - PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS AS THE BASIS FOR A LOGO, THIS IS JUST AN IDEA BUT WE DO NOT WANT THIS EXACT THING WITHOUT EDITS!) attached, and would like to follow something a bit like that. In particular, we would like there to be a transparent outline between the different parts of the logo, so that it can be converted to an all-white logo for some instances (see image for what I mean). We would also like the shortened name of the project (CASCADE) next to the logo, although we have been deciding whether it should come at the side or underneath the logo. Please see our rough sketches for what I mean. The logo should also fit within a circle. With regards to the colours, we would like blues and greens, but not too many colours so as to aid reproducibility. We would like bright colours (perhaps some dark and some lighter, but they shouldn't be muted tones - if that makes sense!). Mainly, we were inspired by the awesome job DesignCrowd did for the Nature Positive Universities logo (please google for reference as this will be useful in envisioning the kind of logo we want :) ) and would like something of a vaguely similar style. We'd like it so that we can have an image with just the logo (ie. no text) but then can have one with the text added next to it. With regard to the text next to the logo, we would like a professional font (this is an academic and professional project). However, all this said, whilst we've thought through what this logo might look like, we're also open to exploring other similar ideas. We would like at least a few designs bringing our vision to life of what we've described here, but a few might be slightly different and we can decide whether we like this. **NOTE: PLEASE DO NOT JUST USE THE DESIGN I PROVIDED. THAT IS JUST A SKETCH, WE WOULD LIKE BETTER/IMPROVED DRAWING OF A WATERFALL AND FLORA. DO NOT PROVIDE US WITH THE SAME LOGO WE HAVE PROVIDED, AS WE WON'T BUY A LOGO THAT WE COULD HAVE DRAWN OURSELVES - PLEASE USE THIS AS INSPIRATION ONLY, OR EDIT IT TO LOOK MORE PROFESSIONAL **
