Logo Design Brief

I have a very basic logo concept I would Like redesigned. my business does 3d printing as well as laser engraving. the logo will be primarily used to engrave into projects, and printed into projects.
I want it to be a 3d looking line cube, with a laser/3d printer head on top shooting a line down creating sparks.
my logo needs a better laser head, I'm not happy with the 'laser lines' on top of the box. I want colour but I want it to be transferrable to be black and white and still look good.
I have uploaded the original box design but happy for it to be different.
