Logo Design Brief
Veteran-owned small business in Alaska. Conceal carry apparel for men and women, self-defense items, and firearm accessories. The previous log was based on the 172 INF in Alaska. I retained the mountains, removed the big dipper, and replaced the long bayonet pointed up with the current M9 bayonet pointed down in the exact location. Open to the color scheme, except the mountain range remains white. Doesn't require a patch background

In the first round of logo design for NLA, Northern Lights Armory, only a few designs stood out as not being recycled of the original 172 INF patch. My company is based in Alaska. I was assigned to the 172 INF and want to keep an aspect of the patch in my company logo. The mountain range will remain, and sharp angles of the mountains may come into use. Tall peaks are not flat pointy hills, bat wings, and chrome mud flap ornaments. Snow-capped, not one solid color. The original sword will be replaced with the M9 bayonet I carried for two decades. The bayonet is pointed down, not up, and using an outline for the bayonet did not work for any of the previous submissions. Bayonet and mountain range complement each other in terms of symmetry and synergy. Don't make the bayonet 10x larger than the mountain range. No handguns or rifles! Big Dipper will not be used; if appropriately inserted, North Star is an option. If you google the original shoulder sleeve insignia (SSI), the border is that of a Scutum or Roman Shield (google a picture). Do not use this border, as it will define it as an SSI again. Be creative; previous designs did not use a border, so use caution with this idea (it looked incomplete—no rising suns or black/red colors for the entire logo. Red/White/blue colors can be used subtly. Open to other color schemes. Open to using NLA or Northern Lights Armory as part of the logo. This primary branding logo will be used on all marketing material, apparel, and custom production items. I am looking for a color and monochromatic logo for this purpose. Pitfalls of previous logos include sending multiple designs with no or minor changes simultaneously. Logo that doesn't meet requirements. Don't use 172 INF at all.
