I am looking for a cover design that depicts a scene in London.
Specifically, the scene involves a teenage boy (aged 13) driving a RIB along the River Thames. He is heading towards a modern building on the bank that faces the O2 arena - see attachment of Google maps showing the route.
In the story, there has been a power cut affecting the whole of London. It is nighttime and everything is in darkness, except for the one building that the boy is heading towards. The lights are on and it acts like a lighthouse.
The fictional building is glass fronted and cylindrical in shape with 25 floors, all of which are residential rather than commercial.
The boy is described as being athletic, olive skinned, with short dark hair and green eyes.
In my head, I'm thinking of a wide angle overhead shot showing the RIB powering up the river, the O2 arena to the left, the lit up building ahead, and the dark outline of the city of London forming the backdrop. But I'm not set on that by any means, and I'm keen to see how you interpret the scene - it could be a close up from onboard the RIB, or a side on from one of the river banks. Please let your imagination run free.
In terms of design aesthetic, I am looking for fairly dark or desaturated colours given it takes place at night during a city-wide power cut. I'm not necessarily looking for photorealism - I've done some mockups of other potential scenes (not of the London river scene) which you can use as reference for the style I'm targeting. These are simple vector drawings so perhaps something similar, but again please use your creative license.
In terms of file delivery, the successful designer will need to be able to provide source files in either vector format (.ai, .svg, .eps, .afdesign etc), Blender compatible formats (if using a 3D scene), or raster formats with a 300 dpi so long as the source files can be provided (.psd, afphoto etc). My preference would be for a vector illustration but that's not a deal breaker by any means. Obviously, for the initial design submission, jpeg and png raster formats are acceptable.

- There's no need to add text on the front cover as I already have an idea of what I'm looking for, but I've not thought about the back cover yet so please have fun with the text layout and general design - graphics vs no graphic, solid vs gradient colour. I have no preference and am keen to see what you come up with.
