Book Cover Design Brief

Independent book author. I need a cover for a children's book, the first book in a series of four. Information is in the attached file. The cover should be lighthearted and fun to attract children. The underwater world has little light, but I don't want the cover to be too dark. The cover should show Pearl, a 14-year-old mermaid, Bo, her 11-year-old brother, and Poppi, their 13-year-old female cousin. Descriptions of the Merkids can be at the designer's discretion but my vision is that Pearl is a red-head with an emerald-green tail, Bo is a brunette with a blue tail and Poppi is a blonde with a high ponytail and pink tail. I’m sure a designer can make them more interesting with maybe a variegated coloring, or a unique color pattern.
Secondary characters in the story are Ollie, a 3-foot octopus who helps the merkids escape a 10-foot tiger shark by squirting ink in the shark’s eyes and the tiger shark. Three main scenes in the book are a colorful coral reef which is a staple feature in all four books, a 15th-century sunken merchant vessel where the merkids run into the shark, and an underwater ancient stone city surrounded by a crumbling stone wall which is home to the Merfolk community. Not all can be on the cover but there are choices for the designer.
