I'm a freelance journalist who also takes photos to accompany my articles. I'm mainly interested in agricultural and regional/rural stories. I've attached some of my work to give you an idea. When it comes to photos, I like accurate portrayals of people as they are in their environment and like a documentary/arty style. I see myself as a journalist, but also a story teller; I try to find new stories but if it's one that's been covered before, what's the new angle? What information can I add to the landscape?
My business name is the Freerange Journo because I pick and choose the stories I write so I only write about topics I'm passionate about and have the ability to tell the whole story. I love getting hands on and learning about new things I'm writing about whether that's fish farming or cotton growing. My initial concept was a typewriter - I've attached a few ideas that we've come up in Canva. I've also attached some samples of my work - writing and photography so you can get a feel for it and some photos of me on the job so you can see how hands on I am and how much I enjoy finding great stories and sharing them with people.
Alternatively, I'd love the concept of a bloodhound holding a camera as my fiance says I'm like a bloodhound when it comes to sniffing out a story!
We are still working on my tagline but it'll be something along the lines of "The journo who gets your story right" or "The journo who can sniff a good yarn out from miles away", but I just want a starting point.
I like a navy/blue/aqua/minty green colour scheme. I'm into vintage so think typewriters and Brownie box cameras! Or the bloodhound with the camera
