Logo Design Brief

My best friend and I are lifelong partners in an annual golf tournament between college friends. Our team name is the Two Lions. He is getting married this year, and I’d like part my gift to him to be some apparel with an ‘official’ team logo.

As former soccer (football) players, I like the style of the old-English ‘rampant lion’. My goal would be to create a clean, minimalist logo that would have a hint of a these soccer/football badges. The initials MAR and WEM should exist subtly somewhere in the logo.
