Logo Design Brief

Looking for a new company logo. Business name is Highland Roofing Co. I am a general contractor who specializes in residential roof repairs and replacements in DFW Texas area. (Where there is a lot of other Roofing competitors).

I’d like a logo that’s simple yet eye catching and people will like the logo. In the roofing industry our logo is typically wrapped on our trucks, trailers and on yard signs. So I’d like something they grabs people’s attention and stands out over other companies logos. I’d also like something that doesn’t have too much detail as I’ll be getting the logo embroidered on shirts and possibly printed on pens and other small items and too busy or detailed logo will get lost.

The name Highland was something my wife came up with. She’s from Scotland. As in just moved here 10 years ago and all her family still live in Scotland. Our kids all have Scottish names. And even my name is Scott. Lol. Well we both love the hairy Scottish cows and want to get one here in Texas soon (luckily we have multiple acres).

So my thoughts were if we could somehow incorporate a highland cow and/or a Scottish tartan color theme into the logo that would be ideal. But most the clipart and logos i find with highland cows aren’t really what I’m looking for. I did come up with this one logo on my own (before we changed name to Roofing). And I like it. However it doesn’t really scream Roofing or contractor etc. it’s just a cows head.

I’m also attached a random tartan clipart I found on google. But it’s a simple tartan pattern and I like the red and black colors.

And lastly. Attaching a couple other random logos I found online that I like. But in no means have to look like these exactly.

EDIT: I added a Texas republic logo that I also kinda like. I wonder if instead of the star it was a highland cow or just a head siloette? Maybe solid color or even tartan pattern
