Logo Design Brief

Need a logo design for a new apparel home based business. We'll be mostly printing t-shirts and handkerchiefs for local businesses and private events. I'd like the logo to incorporate a viking longship with the oars. The bow of the ship could possibly be a viking beard, perhaps with the hair blending onto the waves. Liberty minded iconography, perhaps as an easter egg hidden on a shield, however I don't want that iconography to overpower the logo, seen quickly it should look fairly neutral. Other iconography would be the New Hampshire state outline and the numbers 603. The logo should be relatively simple as far as lines go, and be able to easily be printed as a white logo on a black garment, or a black logo on most other colors including white. Perhaps incorporating a small spot of yellow, on a shield or an oar.
