Logo Design Brief

I need to create a brand and logo for a start-up called WeatherHelm Group. I intend to start as a consulting firm but have a couple other start-ups that I want to fold under it so I need it to be a broad and flexible brand. I picked the name based on "Weather helm", which is a term in sailing that refers to the tendency of a sailboat to turn into the wind, making it harder to steer in certain conditions.

As for using "Weatherhelm" in a consulting company name, it could be interpreted as a company that helps businesses navigate challenging conditions and overcome obstacles, much like how a sailor must adjust their sails and rudder to maintain control in windy or rough weather. The name could also suggest a focus on strategic direction and steering a course towards success.

I have not finalized my Vision and Mission statements but here are some candidates -
