Tattoo Design Brief

I've had this tattoo for a few years. I like it, but I think the silhouette of it is vaguely cartoonish. The tattoo is black and gray (looks reddish in the photo because it was a new tattoo when the picture was taken) and I want a background around it that makes it look more complete. I'm thinking may leaves, grass, etc. I'm not an artist so I don't want to over-specify the project. I may need to consider a few options, but I want something creative and interesting to look at.
