Logo Design Brief

I'm reaching out because I'm looking to update the logo for the Country Club of Vermont. Our current logo features a crouching lion/catamount, but we want to modernize the design and make some changes. Specifically, we would like the lion's butt to be lower to the ground. As well, the tail doesn't need to swoop over the back of the catamount. We want the lion to look more chiseled and strong. We're hoping to achieve a more modern logo look while maintaining its classic and timeless feel. The logo update should be a refinement of the logo, not a different logo.

I'm attaching the current logo for your reference. I only want to use the lion part of the logo. The Mountain and the Logo text can be removed.

Our target audience is a mix of older members who value tradition and newer members who are looking for a fresh, updated look.
This is a good example of the look we are going for.
