Logo Design Brief

We would like to create a logo for our Cross Country ski trail system in Northern Minnesota, USA. We would like to keep it simple, so we can use it on a variety of things, from merchandise, to logo jackets. We would like a cross country skier, some sort of evergreen tree/s, and snowflakes included in the logo. The skier could be skiing in either skate or classic style. A one color design would be preferable.

Another idea would be a skier on a some sort of a winding/flowy tracked trail. This might be more difficult to achieve with a clean look, but we are interested in what you can come up with!
