Logo Design Brief

Reston Building Group is the complete name of the company, RBG for short. The company is an LLC (not sure if that needs to be in the logo though.)
Tagline/Slogan: Build Better
Currently the company is named Reston Construction. The company is in the toddler stage of life. We are acquiring companies to "build" the group. The vision is to create a turn key vertically integrated construction company that includes residential and commercial capabilities. In the coming years we would like to establish divisions within the larger company. For example, RBG Home (residential services), RBG Commercial, RBG Transportation, RBG Civil Contractors. We would like for the brand to be diverse enough to where it can be used for the core logo of each division. An example of this is:

These brands all belong to the same parent company. The logo in this example is not impressive and we don't like it but feel that it is a good example to demonstrate the point. In this example we are looking for something like the FedEx brand or the Virgin Brand.

We are open to considering all types of logo styles listed below in this brief.

Color preferences : Blue, Green, Red, Black, Brown (open to suggestions for colors that work well for construction related companies. Clean, modern, strong are the words that come to mind. We like logos that looks good on black backdrops (but need a logo that can be used on a variety of backdrops). The logo will be used on everything--think construction equipment, letterhead, website, clothing. It needs to be scalable and legible regardless of the size.
I also wanted to note that if there is an opportunity at all to work in an element of the late RBG-Ruth Bader Ginsberg (Supreme Court Judge), such as her glasses, that would be cool. I know that this is not a construction related person but with the name initials being RBG we wanted to see if we could work in a nod to the late RBG!

*I do not want to upload design ideas, old logos, or sketches because I want to see what the designers come up with on their own.

In the coming years we would like to establish divisions within the larger company. For example, RBG Home (residential services), RBG Commercial, RBG Transportation, RBG Civil Contractors. We would like for the brand to be diverse enough to where it can be used for the core logo of each division.

Nice to have

• We would really like to see a mark that we can build around. We are looking for a logo/symbol that embodies our vision of growth to become a nationally recognized vertically integrated construction company.

Should not have

• A "Mom and Pop" company feel. We are looking for a bigger company feel.
