Logo Design Brief

We need a logo design for a fairly new casual lifestyle apparel company based in San Antonio, TX. The company caters to Texans, San Antonio residents and affiliates of UTSA (e.g. students, alumni and fans) and also portions of the first responder and military communities. This logo needs to be recognizable as a stand alone graphic when used in simplistic fashion. In addition to web applications (full color), this logo will also be used to be printed on apparel as both the primary design piece as well as the branding for other design pieces, therefore it needs to be able to be transitioned to a single color when needed and not overly complex. The primary color is currently navy blue with orange as an accent (see attached image); however that is open for change. Attached are images of what the current logo looks like for conceptual context.
