Logo Design Brief

Looking to have a new logo design. The existing logo is dated and honestly hasn't created much 'brand' recognition in the last 20 years. Guardian and Protective Services provides Guardianship and Protective Services to meet the needs of vulnerable adults, the elderly, mentally ill, brain injured and disabled adults who need a decision maker because they have limited support, no family members or capable friends to assist.

This is a complex concept to convey in a logo.. Presently imagery really doesn't mean much -- the name of the company carry the name but it would be great if somehow they worked together and enhanced the service we provide. Obviously, the color is also pretty drab.
