Logo Design Brief

ECHO is a software solution used by large global environmental services companies handling waste and recycling.
Our software helps to make for a cleaner planet.
Our key brand/product values are…

We have a logo that we have used for about 10 years and that needs updating. We use our logo in the product, app icons, on our presentations, documents, business cards and signage. This logo consists of two interconnecting cogs and the name ECHO.
The cogs represent the solution working seamlessly – between components, between systems, between organisations.

Please note that we are not currently looking for a complete change– we just want the design updated to make it more unique and modern. However if you have an amazing design or idea, we will consider it.
We currently use two versions of the logo – the full logotype and a the smaller square size of the ‘cogs’ as an icon (when there is no room for the full logo).
Some things you may wish to consider…
1. We do not operate in the B2C sector nor do we have an identifiable brand so we are looking for a logotype that incorporates the “ECHO” name but also a smaller part of the logo that can be used on it’s own in a square (such as an app icon) where required.
2. Some people see the cogs in our existing logo as a “squiggly arrow” until the cogs are pointed out
3. Whilst we have always used cogs, we also don’t want it to look like a ‘settings’ icon for which cogs are often used in applications.
4. We would like a single colour design if possible to make it is as flexible as possible.
