Graphic Design Brief
We are looking for an animation that we can use in our PowerPoint presentations that illustrates the concept of characterising or identifying structure within a noisy system or data set.
We will also need a static version which can be used when that presentation is exported as a pdf.
I've uploaded some of our company branding material including a style guide for presentations, colours (a more complete set is at the back of the presentation) and so on to help you can get a feel for the kind of style we are after. You can also look at our website www.cambridgemachines.com.
We are open to different ideas of how this concept could be animated. For example, many of the people in the company have backgrounds from the Cambridge Astrophysics group, so the animation could be related to something astronomical (e.g. structure forming in the early universe). It could also be finance/markets related, machine learning (e.g. binary numbers or some MCMC/statistical process) or something more abstract (for example the wavelets in 'animation_idea.png').
As another idea that we like you can look at the following https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yC5kHTsmXqQ
If the colours were inverted here (so white background with black dots) it would be nice to have something where it looks like random dots, but as the animation plays you see structure within those dots.
It should summarise thoughts along some of the following lines:
Finding structure from disorder.
Characterising the structure of very noisy datasets.
Identifying robust solutions so that we can provide strong performance to investors.
Designing and building unique machine learning algorithms to trade in global markets.
