Logo Design Brief
Since I was a small child, I always wanted to be a full-time artist, but then both my parents passed when I was 11 years old. Now, after 25 years in the marketing field, I’m taking the leap to full-time artist and launching a new fine art business. I want your expertise to create a bold logo to help me stand out among the competition online. I have mocked up a special Tlingit Indian symbol for this logo. I have supplied you with a specification sheet for the u-form and split for this new symbol in the logo. I look forward to seeing your creativity and hope to have a long-standing relationship with the chosen designer. Thank you in advance, Nena
FINE ART BUSINESS INTRODUCTION
Our founder Nena Howell, a Native American Tlingit Indian and Contemporary Artist founded a new company, Nena Howell Fine Art in the winter of 2021, located in Washington state, U.S.A. (close to Seattle, Washington).
Our company's traditional Tlingit values will measure the heartbeat of our success. Our core values that guide us include: CONNECTION | STEWARDSHIP | WISDOM | WEALTH | GRACE
The owner and chief artistic creator, Nena Howell, Tlingit, Kaagwaantaan, Raven, seeks to blend contemporary realism and abstraction art style with traditional Tlingit formline art that connects and stewards all life. Each original and printed art piece will be infused with cultural goodwill, and it is our hope our work will enrich our customers lives and spaces.
This Tlingit symbol mock-up (file included) is an original created by Nena Howell based in Tlingit Indian formline art. It includes a uform, split, and an open circle.
Design needs to be:
1) Bold, clear, and simple
2) The symbol should stand alone from the business name
3) Design should work when you reverse the colors
4) Design should scale to tiny computer icon, large size or embroidery
Color: Color desired is purple and gold. A “cool” purple and “warm” gold/deep yellow ochre. Colors are based in values of wealth and wisdom. The design should work well in black and white or color.
