Logo Design Brief

I need a logo design for my custom carpentry business. I primarily build residential cabinets - kitchens, built-ins, closets, laundry rooms, etc. I am looking for a simple black & white logo that can be used in square and circular formats. Initial ideas include combining/overlapping letters J & D in the center with custom carpentry around the sides/at the bottom - but open to all ideas.
