Logo Design Brief

We are a group of academic doctors and scientists doing research on Foot Ankle Injury High Tech Research based in University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. So besides the high tech look, we prefer use the UPMC color of purple black and white color. I attached a logo we had before. But not good enough. Would like a new eye catching design.
