Art Design Brief

I need a brand-symbol proposal for two different potential brand name ideas. This is for the symbol only. I have a rough idea of what I’m looking for, but creative input will be very welcome here. I DO NOT need or want the brand name incorporated in the art at this time, I simply need the logo. I can provide illustrations to use as a jumping off point, but will need the artist to run with the concept and create something new. These will be animal themed, and I’m looking for an artist with a great sense of humor and lack of judgement, that wants to make something fun. This will be more detailed than your run-of-the-mill abstract logo piece.

Brand #1 possible names:
-Novum Amrum: New territory
-Vita Fera: Wild Life
-Novus Casus: New Adventure
-Audax: Bold, Adventurous
-Novus Unum: Strange one
*Symbol Idea: The above are all latin names in the same genre. Here I would like a personified animal, a more unassuming animal with attributes that are somewhat comical and also very striking and memorable. I provided some existing logo samples that I love. The wiener dog was used for a very successful branding campaign, and penetrated several unrelated markets simply by being unique, playful, and comical. I also LOVE the rooster. An unassuming animal made into a much more hardcore version, but less personified and more just dressed up. This would be very popular with one of our target market segments, and is certainly striking and memorable.

I would love to see at least one design with a real animal in the aforementioned comical personified light, such as a platypus, lemur, red panda, hyena, or something of the like. I would also love to see a design with a Greek Satyr, Half man/half beast
of the artists choosing
Brand #2:

Grand Plans Media Instruments
*Symbol: Here I envision another more unassuming animal standing at the forefront. Behind him, his shadow is cast showing an evolution into something much bigger and developed. e.g. a house cat at the forefront with a lions shadow cast behind him. I would like a more creative and less common animal that leaves a a more lasting and stronger impression. Want something recognizable but uncommon.

Target Market(s)

Adventure/Tactical community. Much of the company equipment is used for the filming of shark week and adventure/wild life documentaries, and some will be used for tactical/military companies and their associated media productions
