Tattoo Design Brief

I am looking for a design for my next tattoo, which I hope to put on the back of my neck between my shoulder blades. I have two symbols that I want to be included in the design. I don't want it to big, too big, but I feel that it needs more character. I have a love of nature, roses, books and love intricate designs with a meaning behind them. If that helps at all, I want it to be black and white.
