Logo Design Brief

We need a logo for a vacation rental property on a mountain lake. Cirque du Lac is French for "Circus of the Lake". It is an elegant Mid Century Modern lodge built in the 1960s by a family that owned a traveling circus. We cater to affluent families, so the logo should be elegant, reflect a circus big top, and maybe include something that represents water. A gold and gray color scheme is prefered.

The attached logo is busy but if you simplified it we would be closer to what we are looking for. I like the rooflines of the big top in the sample logo.
