Label Design Brief
We're a small (nano)brewery that is just getting into the world of packaging. Looking for a catch-all label design for the first run of canned beers. We're such a small operation, we want to do a "preliminary" or "generic" or "test" label that we can slap onto any of our beers, that will then get a small label (or hand written) what the name of the beer actually is. If you're familiar with the beer industry, something a brewery would use for a Crowler Label is what we're thinking. This label will be for 16oz cans with the label measuring 4.5" x 6.5" on the small side, or 5" x 8" on the large size - this is the full label (Government warning, barcode etc).
Elm Street Brewing Co is located in Muncie, IN right outside of Ball State University in the old Muncie Icehouse, a giant brick building built in 1890. Our taproom which is the star of our show, has the original old building charm- Edison bulbs, exposed brick, original wood, mixed with a new age industrial feel- concrete bar tops and tables, acid etched steel, many unique wall treatments. The original wood, along with interior decorations make our bar area feel more like a cabin in the mountains, or a ranger station in a national park, than a brewery in Muncie!
Other than the brewery, we do have a full liquor bar, guest taps, a full kitchen with a wood fired pizza oven and a giant smoker out back. We have live music 3-5 times a week, and lots of our beer names are plays on songs or lyrics, so it wouldn't be crazy to take a musical tilt on a design (Just a thought, not a want/need/requirement).
Attached is our logo, a few pictures of the place and a template that I've created, however it's not necessary that you use my template, just a starting off point for if you would like to.
