Logo Design Brief

The Static Roots Festival is Germany's one and only Americana music / Alternative Country festival.

Wikipedia about Americana music: "Americana, as defined by the Americana Music Association (AMA), is "contemporary music that incorporates elements of various mostly acoustic American roots music styles, including country, roots rock, folk, gospel and bluegrass resulting in a distinctive roots-oriented sound that lives in a world apart from the pure forms of the genres upon which it may draw. While acoustic instruments are often present and vital, Americana also often uses a full electric band.""

The festival started in 2016 with a logo consisting of a smiling, friendly red planet with the text “STATIC ROOTS FESTIVAL” on it (see file attachment). As the festival has grown from a little event with six acts on one day to a packed hall with thirteen acts over two days and people travelling there from all over the world, we think the logo needs to grow up, too.

The subtitle for our festival is "peace - love - rock'n'roll" - it sounds hippie-esque. And somehow the festival is!

Furthermore, we want to grow our music project from just the festival (“static roots festival”) to also promoting live shows (“static roots presents”), a house concert series (“static roots @ home), and use Spotify playlists as a promotional platform (“static roots on spotify”).

As we have been fans of the art of Dolan Geiman (https://dolangeiman.com/), we would like to see an illustration of one of his “songwriter souvenir acoustic guitar with butterfly” (https://dolangeiman.com/collections/mixed-media-wall-art/products/songwriter-souvenir-acoustic-guitar-with-butterflies?variant=32781952450637) as the central element of the new logo series. See pictures of the object in the attachments.

As mentioned above, this design job consists of four different variants. To save your time, for this contest we are fine with just two logo implementations. The chosen winner of the contest will then do the remaining two logo implementations as part of the design job as well.

Must have

• An illustration of the Dolan Geiman songwriter guitar (see attachments) is supposed to be the central element of the new logo.
  
  Text should use the font “Montserrat Extra Bold”. We think that all text should be in lowercase but we will leave it to the designers.
  
  File types required are:
  png (transparency)/jpg for web presentation
  pdf with cmyk for print
  psd or ai file
