Logo Design Brief

Hi, I'm looking for help with a logo design that will work for 2 content projects I'm working on.

The first is called 'Texas Cold Case' which is a website, + social media channels dedicated to sharing the stories of victims of unsolved crime. It's more about the person and heart of their story than the crime itself. That's an important distinction in my style of video storytelling. Really shine a light on the emotion and humanity of the crime.

The second project is the larger umbrella called 'True Crime Texas' which is more about Texas crime short stories and curiosity around crime in our state.

These two brands will be closely married together as I find my way, but 'Texas Cold Case' has more of a help, heart feel where I'm trying to share the personal stories and find hope for families. I'm looking for an idea that can simply marry both of these two together or as a standalone.

I'm a big fan of negative space in logos but not a necessity! Can be as simple as just a style of font. Black and white is always a great option for me as a video journalist. I love the look of horizontal logos, but fitting something like that into small square dimensions always worries me. Thanks for any help! I'm open to any creativity! Heart, humanity, empathy are important to me. Which is hard to marry to a tough subject like crime and cold cases... I don't want to overplay the caricature of Texas. Subtle or none is okay. I don't want to scare people either by incorporating frightening elements of crime, but subtle is okay here too.

These are digital projects, obviously with .com being the driver but I'm not sure it needs to be part of the logo, unless you do! Thank you again!

Must have

• Logos that work together or separately. Must work well on video but also in graphic design elements. Much of the work will be traditional video and text only videos, graphics.

Should not have

• I don't think I want to overplay the caricature of Texas. Subtle is okay or none at all. I also don't want to scare people outright playing up the elements of crime. Subtle is okay.
