Logo Design Brief

We need a logo design for a Ontario-wide Primary Care Learning Network called 'POPLAR' (Primary care Ontario Practice-based Learning and Research Network).

The network is made up of seven sites, which are based at different university departments of family medicine around Ontario. Electronic medical record data are securely deidentified and extracted from registered clinics at each site location and put into a provincial wide database. Data can then be used to support practice-based clinical research and quality improvement research. We work with clinicians, researchers and policy makers to facilitate innovation and excellence in primary health care research.

It would be good to see logos that incorporate the poplar tree/leaf in some way, without it looking like we are a nature-related company (so maybe not green, blue might work better). Perhaps something that shows the tree branches as interconnected, like a network. The design should be clean and appropriate for medical, research and university fields.

The final design should communicate data security, professionalism and innovation.
