Logo Design Brief

I’m looking to get a logo created for a new business called Oingo Bingo.

We will be running music bingo events in pubs initially, with the aim of expanding into the corporate sphere if all goes to plan.
These nights run along the lines of a typical bingo game, but instead of calling out numbers that players cross off their cards, we will play songs that they in turn cross off the cards.

I’m looking for something simple but effective. It needs to incorporate the name first and foremost and I am thinking an image as well, although that’s not an absolute must.
I want the logo to say ‘this is fun’ but at the same time it needs to come across as professional.

I had an idea based around the letter ‘o’ being prominent in the name. Traditional bingo uses a thing called a bingo cage from which the caller draws the numbers – the cage is typically spherical. I thought it could be spinning with musical notes, guitars, etc. flying out? The other thing that comes to mind is a mirror ball. I’d be ok with both included, but not the mirror ball on its own as I think it associates pretty strongly with disco and what we’re doing will cover many music genres. That said, it’s just an idea and I’m not locked into it in the slightest – more than happy for you to take it in a different direction.
