Logo Design Brief

Design logo for new communications consulting and public relations/public affairs firm. Work includes issues and crisis management, corporate reputation, executive positioning and thought leadership, public relations (media and other key stakeholders). Many but not all clients will be in the natural resources/energy/oil and gas/chemicals sectors. Some will be healthcare, brand lifestyle or higher education clients, so the logo must be somewhat versatile. The four Cs can stand for whatever each individual clients wants: corporate affairs, collaboration, communications strategies, crisis management, creative design, creative writing, complex problem solving, change management, critical thinking, etc. I will work with a variety of partners.

We can consider something that looks like/evokes one of the elements in the Periodic Table of Elements -- I like this idea but it might be overdone. I am also open to something totally different. The logo should look modern but not "high-tech" as I don't want anyone to mistake my business for a telecommunications company.

I have 35 years of experience in large public relations agencies and am well known in the industry. Many but not all of my clients will be conservative corporations. The logo should communicate communications, capability, corporate reputation excellence, and creativity. I want to stay away from red (too many chemical/energy companies use vivid red) or dark green (in the natural resources space, anti-fossil fuel activists are called "dark greens").

We do not have a designed website yet but the URL is C4-communications.com. I don't want this on the logo. I also want to downplay the word "communications" because it could devalue my rates. I will be more of a consultant than a communications freelancer.
