Graphic Design Brief
I need a backdrop design drawn with stage curtains. I am a professional clown. My photo of me as a clown is attached. Do not put my face on the backdrop. I mainly perform at birthday parties in living rooms. I am going to have a backdrop printed that is 8 feet by 8 feet (243.84 centimeters by 243.84 centimeters). My printing company says it needs to be vector. The backdrop will be behind me as I perform a funny magic show for kids ages 3 to 7. I have attached designs of backdrops with curtains. I don't want the people.
* I am not sure if I want a floor drawn, so I would like to see some designs with a floor, and some without.
* I want it to look very much like a cartoon. The ones I attached with the red curtains are not cartoony enough. Maybe a backdrop that looks like it is from a Dr. Suess book or Sponge Bob. I love the style of the one with the man in front, and if you drew my curtains very similar to that one, I might pick your design.
* I like the color scheme of my logo. Orange, red, yellow, and turquoise. Black and white also work. If those are not enough colors for you, the one color you could add is pink, because it ties into my hair color.
* I think for the middle part, turquoise would be a good color.
For the middle part, I do not want it too busy. It could be plain, or a gradient, or maybe a dark turquoise background and a light turquoise design, for example, swirls; you know best. During my performance, photos that are taken in front of the backdrop will mainly focus on the middle, thus I would rather have the detailed part be the curtains, which will be to the side and top. I don't recommend orange or pink for the middle part because my hair or pants will be less noticeable. Although my vest is turquoise, I think that is okay. Turquoise is my favorite color. I would like the turquoise to have the correct blue and green mixture to match the turquoise in my logo, but it could be darker or lighter.
* Shades of most colors might look more fun if some were a little lighter than my logo colors. But for the behind the curtains part, it might look more three dimensional if that was darker, but your the experts, maybe I'm wrong.
* I am undecided if I want to have my logo on the backdrop. So maybe make one design with and one without. This is one reason why I attached my logo, so you can see how it looks on my backdrop. I might be more likely to choose your design if it went with my logo, so maybe some polka dots or diagonal stripes like my logo has. I wear my logoed nametag when I perform, and my logo is on my case of magic which I have on stage
* You could design a new Silly Jilly logo to put on my backdrop, and if I choose your backdrop, I might hire you to make me a new logo. I am happy with my logo, but I could be wowed with something else. I do not always perform as a clown. I sometimes perform plain-clothes, thus don't put the word "clown" on my backdrop. I always have a chicken on my head, which is why I suggested to my last logo designer to include a chicken. But you could just write out my name with whimsical lettering no chicken. Or use my current logo. Or no wording at all.
* I would like at least half of the backdrop to be the behind the curtain part. So the curtains will need to either be narrower than some of my attachments or have the gather point towards the top.
* In a few months, I will buy a skinny table to be used in my show, and if I chose your design, I would later hire you to design for me a table wrap.
Update April 29: I added a picture of chicken headbands because one of the designers asked. I always wear one of the headbands pictured. If I make a child a chicken that is not on a headband, I put the chicken's feet together. Putting a chicken on the backdrop is not a must-have.

Requirements
Must have
- The illusion of a cheerful cartoon stage.
The part between the curtains needs to be simple. For example, the stripe photo I uploaded today. No blue
Do one of these options for middle:
have a light turquoise and a dark turquoise
or have a light turquoise, dark turquoise, and one more color of stars or polka dots or confetti.
Must have a simple cartoon style. The style of the cartoon screenshots I uploaded today. For example, a theater stage from the tv show “The Simpsons” or the tv show “Peppa Pig.”
Nice to have
- April 26 Update: If you use my name logo, I would probably like my name better if it was at the top. Either in the top center, or hanging diagonal in the left corner. Because if the name is lower, then I will be standing in front of it and blocking my name from the audience. I am still undecided if I want my name logo on my backdrop.
April 27 update. The photo of me is so you know what I look like. I do not want that photo on my backdrop.
Update April 28: Today I uploaded a photo to show you how I will use the backdrop. This is a picture of a colleague. Her backdrop is satisfactory. I want my backdrop to look less elegant.
Update April 28: Do not use my clown face because sometimes I perform magic shows plain-clothes.
Do not use the color blue. My logo and costume are red, yellow, orange, and turquoise. I want the backdrop to go with my color scheme. If you need a 4th color, use pink. Black, white, and grey are good colors.
Update April 30: The part between the curtains needs to be simple. For example, the stripe photo I uploaded today. No blue
Do one of these options for middle:
have a light turquoise and a dark turquoise
or have a light turquoise, dark turquoise, and one more color of stars or polka dots or confetti.
April 30 update: Must have a simple cartoon style. The style of the cartoon screenshots I uploaded today. For example, a theater stage from the tv show “The Simpsons” or the tv show “Peppa Pig.” I might choose your design if the curtains looked like the curtains were on a stage in “The Simpsons” tv show.
May 1 update: Make the back drop look hand drawn. Do not make it look computer designed. I know you are using a computer, but give the illusion that the backdrop was drawn by hand. For example “The Simpsons” tv show. I posted a screen shot of scenes from the tv show I like.
Should not have
- Don't make it look realistic. Make it look like a cartoon.
*Do not include my face on the backdrop. Today, April 28, I uploaded 2 photos of my face because a designer asked. No face on the backdrop.
* Do not include the color blue or green or purple. no blue, no green, no purple.
* Do not have a detailed background. Do not put many colors between the curtains. You may make the top and sides either simple or detailed. Make the middle simple. For example, on April 30 I uploaded stripes in the style I want. But turquoise and darker. Not blue.
