We are designing a brand new curriculum line for our church organization called "God's Words for Life". This will replace a 50 year legacy curriculum and will cover all ages (children, youth, and adults). As such, we are needing to design a fresh logo that will tell the story of what we are trying to accomplish. A few requirements:
- It will utilize the name "God's Word for Life"
- Needs to be a concise logo that is block style (in other words, it would be better to have "God's Word" sit on top of "for Life" as opposed to it all being written on the same line). The logo could fit in a circle or square to be used as a "badge" or "stamp/sticker" (see Bible Studies for Life logo).
- We need to avoid gradients, transparencies, and hard to use color pallets. The base logo needs to be black and white and we can build color variants from that.
- We would like to see the use of an icon that can be used by itself or be used with the full logo but conveys the message either way.
- Icons options could include: a book/Bible and could even be an abstract concept. Would prefer not to just have a standard open book that you see on many religious brands.
- Please avoid: crosses, doves, steeples, Jesus fish
- The feel should be modern but avoid trends - longevity is the goal. It should have cleans line, a minimalistic feel and preferably utilize a san serif font.
- We like the attached logo for "The Gospel Project" because it emphasizes the word "GOSPEL" while still drawing strong attention to the word "PROJECT". We would like to accomplish the same by highlighting "God's Word" but not making it so overbearing that "Life" is lost underneath it.
- Keep it inside the same font family. The only exception being if you wanted to play with the word "for" - either changing the font, size, orientation, etc.

Nice to have
- - We would like to see the use of an icon that can be used by itself or be used with the full logo but conveys the message either way.

- We like the way the "Bible Studies for Life" logo sits in the conversation bubble. Something like this with a book or Bible option could work well. This would allow us to use the words alone, use them in the "icon", or use the icon alone.
Should not have
- - We need to avoid gradients, transparencies, and hard to use color pallets. The base logo needs to be black and white and we can build color variants from that.
