Logo Design Brief

Design a logo for a publishing company focused on nature topics and subjects. The name of the company — Hard Shell — represents the hard shell of a turtle (the tie-in to nature) and represents the "shell" (cover) of the books. The logo needs to be full color but should be able to be converted to a single black logo too for imprinting purposes. Colors should reflect publishing (books), which has a very long and prestigious history, and nature (mountains, wildlife, water, trees). I have attached the current logo I am using. Please make sure there is clear delineation and separation between the name and the graphic. I have also attached a couple of logos from competitor publishers.

• Representation of nature tied in with books. I would prefer to have something that clarifies where the hard shell originated (turtle), how that ties to nature and then incorporate a book.
