Book Cover Design Brief
Title: Realm of Secrets
Author: Stephanie Briarton
I'm not certain of font types other than no sans serif.
Need a book cover for a fantasy series that resolves around adventure, secrets, found family, and a hint of romance. The protagonist is a mid-twenties woman with a mysterious past. She helps/protects a young seven-month pregnant woman when pregnancy is suddenly outlawed. The majority of the book is spent with them running through the woods and rural parts of the realm, while a high-ranking soldier chases them, one the protagonist had started a relationship with just before the pregnancy ban. The entire book revolves around people having secrets that are slowly revealed as the story progresses.
This is based on a medieval-style fantasy setting. The book will be 6" x 9" paperback, with 396 pages. The paperback will be with Ingram Spark and the e-book with KDP.
Blurb:
Eselle has spent years secretly subverting Likalsta’s despotic king. While waiting in a small town for her contact, she befriends a pregnant widow named Cristar, and begins an affair with the enigmatic regional commander, Kyr.
When pregnancy is suddenly outlawed, Kyr arrests Cristar!
Forced to take sides, unwilling to lose anymore people she cares about, Eselle stages a daring rescue. The two women battle the wilds of Likalsta in an effort to save Cristar’s unborn child, all the while being relentlessly pursued by Kyr.
The longer the chase continues, the more the lines between friend and foe blur. In a land full of secrets, who can Eselle trust?

Requirements
Must have
- Forest or nature feel to it, though doesn't have to be specific images. The story takes place over two months in weather similar to a North American fall, so cool/cold weather, leaves in various stages of changing color and falling.
Nice to have
- General sense of people with generic rural setting, medieval-based fantasy clothing. The order of importance for the characters are Eselle/Protagonist, Kyr/Soldier, Cristar/Pregnant Friend. Doesn't have to be actual images, but if it is:
- Eselle/Protagonist : mid-twenties woman, braided light brown hair, blue eyes, travelers-style worn attire (various shades of brown, cream, and green) of tunic, trousers, boots, cloak, and pack, no weapons other than a dagger on her belt. She's accustomed to months on end of traveling alone in the wild, but she also successfully deals with nobility when she needs to.
- Cristar/Pregnant Friend: twenty, dark wavy brown hair that often comes loose from her braid, blue eyes, wearing similar attire to protagonist, except it's her larger husbands clothes, so the sleeves and pant legs are rolled up. She's seven months pregnant.
- Kyr/Soldier: Tall, short dark brown hair, very dark brown eyes, wearing red tunic under sleeve-less chainmail (to hips), and leather vambraces (lower arms), leather grieves (shin guards), leather spaulders (shoulders), sword belt with sword and dagger, trousers, boots, and sometimes a red cloak.
Should not have
- Should not have anything too violent, elegant, or sexy. It's more about adventure and personal connections.
