Logo Design Brief

We are a new company based in the Netherlands and called Hands-On Prototyping. Hands-On, because we create and build actual physical products. Prototyping, because we build working models of new products or new versions of an existing product. <br/><br/>There are many startup initiatives around us to help out the people with innovative ideas to setup a company. However they mainly focus on company structure/legal setup/patents etc... But an new product idea also needs a proof-of-concept (does an idea work in basis) up to a prototype (a full functioning model). For a physical product this requires specialist engineering know-how and technical skills. That is where we come in. <br/><br/>We are a cooperation of self employed engineers. To our customers we are one brand (Hands-On Prototyping), at the back we are a network of specialized people that stay independent. In this construction everybody gets paid for the hours they work on a project. Extra participation (unpaid time or tools/assets) will annually be rewarded to every member in a fair share depending on their contribution. <br/><br/>We focus on solving problems with modern tools while thinking out of the box. Everything is allowed. We are the passionate problem solvers. The creators of your idea. The behind the scenes inventors of your product.<br/><br/>We are not only designing new products but also producing the prototypes. These develop further and further until they are a final product, then we can help the customer to transfer it to a manufacturing facility. <br/><br/>We have a modern workshop where we can build the hardware of your product. Metal, wood, plastics, (micro) electronics, etc... . A big USP is that we also have the machine to make the heart of any modern product: Printed Circuit Boards (the green plates with the tiny electronics that hold the software and chips to make the heart and brain of a product)<br/><br/>We like to not take things to serious but still have a high quality standard and like clean, simple designs. It would be nice to incorporate something contradicting that can catch the attention of someone looking at it. As in "Wait a second,... ahhh I see what they did there". For example there is a dutch company called "Blue Circle", but their logo is a Red Square. Simple but genius. <br/><br/>Our workshop and company is located on the docks in the port of Rotterdam. This location is where from early 20th century up until the early 80's ships and submarines were being build. A truly inspirational location. Search on "RDM Innovation Dock" to see images.
