Logo Design Brief

Hello there!<br/><br/>As the director of INTELEC, I created a logo myself a long time ago, though I am not a professional designer. At first I thought the logo looked alright, but as time passes, I became more sceptical about my own design - it seems ugly and have missed something that I couldn't really tell. If you guys, as a way better designer than I am, could use some of your wisdom and help me design a logo for my company, that would be awesome! By the way, my company specialises in Electrical Engineering designs. That covers schematics, PLCs, industrial automation and such. I would like the logo to somewhat reflect that (as you can see from my crappy design, it has a 3-phase sine wave). You can choose any colour scheme as long as they are pleasing to eyes.
