Logo Design Brief
We need a new logo for our software house. We develop different kinds of software: mobile apps, web apps and backend systems so no specific type of work we do should be reflected in the logo.
Our initial idea is that a letter U would be a good choice to reflect the brand name followed by the name of the company like
[U] Ultrico
where [U] is some creative version of the letter U and Ultrico is the full company name.
We consider ourselves "makers of fine software" and want the logo to reflect that mindset. Fine software is not simple but it is easy to use and it is built with craftsmanship and attention to details.
Current branding (and please do not use that as an inspiration too much, we are open to different colors and font style used there is not one that we like a lot) can be seen on ultrico.com (only company name there without the letter U).
We want to be able to use the logo with and without the name of the company in both web and physical products including t-shirts (think http://www.chasingthefrog.com/item/tony-stark-iron-heart-t-shirt/ kind of t-shirt or one with company name), cups, notebooks etc.
If the logo is colorful it should be easy for the logo to be converted to a minimalistic version of black on white background or white on black background (it would be super nice to see the logo in those variations when choosing the winner).
