Logo Design Brief

I am a French sommelier who just started its own wine tasting business called Vinologie. I am based in Stockholm, Sweden, and only works locally.

My business is mainly to organize private and open wine tastings of French wines ranging from 70 USD to 200 USD per person. It can be either as unique event or as a serie of several tastings called "The French wine school". Champagne tastings are very popular too.

My clientele is ranging from people in their early 30's to late 60's. A typical tasting involves a long table with white tablecloth filled with wine glasses perfectly spread in front of each seat, not a wooden bar table with loud drinking buddies.

I organize tastings either in a modern wine cellar in Central Stockholm (https://en.magnussonfinewine.com/media) or in a castle nearby (http://www.tyresoslottskrog.se/). The pictures can give you an idea of the environment I am working in.

I am also offering my services as consultant for private wine import from France, advising on which wine to buy and managing custom duties as well as transportation on behalf of my customers.

I am fluent in Swedish but my French accent is appreciated by my customers as a proof of knowledge when it comes to French wines. I am a very social person, outspoken but not at all arrogant. I thrive in social context, like to meet new people and to share my knowledge of French wines.

My main corporate customers are consultant and IT companies which want me to organize the wine tasting in their office. The logo should inspire them confidence that I master the codes of the corporate and office live. It should also reflect my professional ability as sommelier.

Therefore, I would like that the logo reflects :

1. My French roots and the fact that the wines served are coming from France.

2. The local aspect of the business. I live in Stockholm and my customers are mostly Swedish citizens.

Maybe a typical item of Stockholm’s architecture like the three crowns on top of the city hall (Stockholm Stadshuset) or the famous city hall silhouette itself can be featured in the logo as a hint for the Swedish side of Vinologie ? It is just a suggestion and by no means mandatory.

3. The fact that Vinologie is a company promoting elegance, making a complex stuff (French wine) easier to understand under a convivial time where everybody is expected to have a good time and leave with a smile.

• It should also take into account the local Scandinavian style which is light and sleek, rather naked with cold colors. Not an explosion of warm tones in an overcrowded picture in other words.
• Lastly, the emphasize shall rather be on which services Vinologie offers than on the name Vinologie itself.
