THE REAL ESTATE, DESIGN, & CONSTRUCTION STEPS TO OPENING YOUR RETAIL OR FOOD-SERVICE CONCEPT ON-TIME AND ON BUDGET

These pages derive from my experiences and industry standards. This book runs through the budgeting, real estate, design, construction, signage, and equipment processes needed to get any retail or restaurant space open on-time and on budget while saving you time, money, and headaches along the way.

Whether it be a one-off enterprise or franchise, flower shop, or swim center; the steps and procedures are strikingly similar. Whether you’re looking to spend $200,000 or $2,000,000, it’s all largely the same.
This book does not discuss marketing or operations as those items are more concept specific, and outside the confines of this book.
Technically food-service concepts (restaurants, cafés, and bars) are not considered retail. For the basis of this book and to streamline writing, mentions of retail include food-service concepts.
