Last year we did team shirts for a technical team in charge of running websites (I'm simplifying). The book definition of the team is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Site_Reliability_Engineering .The team is part of VMware (vmware.com) and works on Wavefront (wavefront.com).I'm including two examples of what we did last year. -https://www.dropbox.com/s/jpx7pu8aezv51tl/BeachOps.png?dl=0- https://www.dropbox.com/s/xbzgh1cq6qcqoih/dc-beachops-vans.png?dl=0I also like the styles from http://www.myslofly.com/ .I'll be using https://www.customink.com/ for printing and need designs that are either no more than 5 colors or can be flattened to black and white. Example : https://www.dropbox.com/s/lxe8rwd75fci95t/dc-beachops-shirts.jpeg?dl=0Thematically, the design should feel like beach or surf wear, with a California vibe (and perhaps a retro or vintage feel). Should embody "#BeachOps" and "ROSES". Can incorporate VMware branding colors but shouldn't feel like a company branded shirt (the example with the VW busses incorporated "VW" as part of VMware and the Wavefront logo on the surfboard). Why "#BeachOps"?We are computer engineers that run large websites but we try to build systems and computer programs to fix problems for us.Why ROSES?https://www.dropbox.com/s/h8wfau42k1tnmjk/dc-beachops-roses.pdf?dl=0Within the company, we use the term ROSES to represent the words below. The design should feel unisex and be predominately beach oriented but should invoke something to do with roses. The ROSES graphic incorporates some of the VMware corporate branding (the cloud itself).Resiliency - Ability for a self-healing system to recover from infrastructure or service failures, handle disruption, and keep a high availabilityAWS+K8s infrastructure, Istio service mesh, Backup/restore service, Salamander for auto-remediation, Heimdall for trafficObservability - Drive instrumentation and monitoring of systems to continuously improve processes and softwareMetrics monitoring and anomaly detection, Transactional API monitoring, Logging, Distributed tracing, Profiling, UI AvailabilitySecurity - Ability to protect data, systems and assets through development and configuration of services and infrastructureDiploma and Chancellor for certificate management, Secure access to production (Vault, RBAC), Secrets managementEfficiency - Ensure that our system costs growth remains sublinear to that of the businessCapacity planning, Resource utilization and right-scalingScalability - Automatic scaling of infrastructure to handle multi-geo production loadCross-cluster service discovery, Multi-AZ and region federated clusters
