Overview Who we are: CORE (Centre for Outcomes Research and Evaluation) French title: CRES (Centre de recherche évaluative en santé) We are a research center in Montreal Canada that falls within the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Center (RI-MUHC). The CORE comprises over 90 principal investigators, all of whom are McGill professors, and more than 350 trainees and professional staff. The majority of CORE’s researchers are epidemiologists, biostatisticians, and health services researchers. Their approach to science uses rigorous research designs of exposed and non-exposed (control) groups and biostatistical analyses to infer cause-and-effect relationships between exposures and health outcomes. CORE researchers have made outstanding contributions over the years, developing and evaluating new clinical diagnostic tools and treatments, health care innovations and public health policies. We study the genetic, environmental, and behavioural causes of disease, assess the health impact of new diagnostic approaches and clinical treatments, and evaluate the benefits, risks, and costs of health care services. We make direct links to health and disease that rapidly lead to impact on health outcomes, in both the short and long term. Our mission: Improve human health: By bringing together experts in epidemiology, biostatistics, clinical trials, and health services research, the CORE has established itself as a leading research centre that works to improve the health and health care of Canadians. Shows openness/innovation/collaboration/diversity of ideas/global health of population. Not too classic, not too eccentric/eclectic. But not dry. A Millennial perspective and touch is preferred. Our 2 affiliated centers (MUHC, RI-MUHC) have logos with red and blue color palettes; we want to make sure we are not to be confused or blended with theirs. Therefore, we do not want the exact same color palette for our CORE logo, but usage of red or blue is not prohibited per se. We need to be able to have 2 versions of the logo, one in French and one in English. Thus, if using our acronyms as part of logo structure, please make sure we have one of these options: 1) put CORE and CRES acronyms at the same time 2) Generate two separate nearly identical logos one using CORE, and the other using CRES. The long versions of our name cannot be embedded in the actual logo itself, we need it to be a separate (not flattened) layer, so we can replace the English name with the French one as needed. The non-abbreviated title name must be secondary in the design.
