Logo Design Brief

We're looking for logo variations for Machado Trucking & Aggregates, a dump truck hauling service and stone delivery company in Maryland.

Clean, simple, and not too busy please. We want the logo to communicate simplicity, strength, and style

We would like to see at least one of these ideas used if possible:

Option 1 (preferred): Portugal is known for a popular style of tile called "azulejos", please reference attached images. If the azulejos tile design is used, we want it to appear masculine in nature. No flowers. This is for a construction industry company

Option 2: The name Machado means "hatchet" in Portuguese and we would like to have a hatchet (or hatchet blade(s)) represented in the logo in an abstract way. If used, I want it to be very creative or abstract to where you wouldn't even notice it at first. Maybe just an vague outline or the edge of a hatchet blade. I don't want someone to glance at the logo and spot a hatchet easily

Option 3: traditional Portuguese sidewalk has lots of small cut stones used to make different designs. I've attached a photo to reference. The imperfect individual stones create a beautiful design across the whole sidewalk. This concept could be used as well.

Colors: white, black, and blue (blue options: Yale, steel, indigo, Egyptian, Persian). The colors can be used in any way. I've attached a sample of a basic logo we've been using for a couple years now. Would like to see something more modern. We're not set on a font yet. We don't like bold or italicized lettering

Nice to have

• Logo could resemble a family crest or shield
• Could include letter M or Machado name within a Portuguese tile design separate from full company name.
• Could somehow include azulejo tile within the name Machado

Should not have

• Should not say MTA or MT&A
• Should not have images of equipment or a road unless it is abstract
• Should not have flower design
• Should not have large hatchets, must be subtle or abstract.
• Do not want to look like a logging or lumber company
