Book Cover Design Brief

General direction:
Simple yet effective rather than too busy cover. Design to generate emotions of awe and hope - not of fear or futility. To be more on a subtle, elegant level then in readers face. Possible concept to consider: Tasteful indication of persistent presence of God (as light).
Possible ideas:
▫ Taking a blindfold off (preferably group of people) with expression of awe, bewilderment and joy. Their clothing should indicate diverse strata’s of society (professional, racial, cultural, affluence, etc). Not urban environment. Preferably in nature or as per designer creativity.
▫ Concept of duality (light/dark; good/evil; paths (or crossroads) with subtle hint – one branch might be bright; another slight notice of decay. Bright path on the right-hand side). Please don't use road or rail tracks.
▫ Earth from space - play with the light and darkness of the space (this idea is somewhat overused - must be unique to be considered). Interesting images for this concept attached. I don’t have stock image licence though.
▫ Open to artists suggestions.

Requirements

Must have

• A book cover for paperback and ebook.
• Deliverables to include following:
• ▫ Design of front/spine/back for paperback book size: 6 x 9 (Cover template attached),
• ▫ Same cover image for ebook format,
• ▫ Title page using same font(s)/style (black and white, without cover details).
• Number of Pages: 328 (template attached)
• The back cover must include:
• ▫ Synopsis (text is attached),
• ▫ ISBN # and bar code (as per cover template spec) – barcode file will be provided
• ▫ Publisher’s logo (logos attached)
• The Spine must include:
• ▫ Book Title (no subtitle)
• ▫ Authors first name initial and full last name (A. Ostojic)
• ▫ Publisher logo

Nice to have

• Tasteful, color, contrasting cover. Objective is to generate curiosity, positive feelings but subtle.

Should not have

• Definitely no promotion of low vibe emotions of fear, destruction, etc.
