Logo Design Brief

I am taking my organisation International Adoption Guide from a cottage industry into a professional arena. I would like this to be refected in the logo. My present logo has been described as something from National Geographic circa 1930's!! Thus the need to bring it into the 21st century. It has to be personable as this is a very sensitive arena and it has to do with children, families, love and loss - so something too flashy will alienate the client. It should represent children, the world, love, families. The main use will be on the website and on developed products including video and print so it has to be flexible. I am also wanting to up date my colour scheme (presently purple/orange)to something fresher. This will be reflected across the board.

I would like to thank everyone for their designs.  I have had to chew on them for a few days so apologies if you are feeling that I am slow in offering feedback - I am letting the images perculate.  What to me feels better are simpler and clearer designs that are easily and instantly recognisable. Not too fussy and not too confusing.  What I have noticed and what is very interesting is that many of the designs are 'open' which obviously an interpretation of adoption but which conflicts with our ideas that it is a safe, solid and secure environment and therefore logos should be closed and solid and definite. I haven't actually seen any design that incorporates the 'international' aspect. Can I see something including that?  Not necessary a globe but perhaps a world map?? One idea I had was a dot world map and colours bringing in logo but that could be too fussy.  I have also been thinking a lot about colours as this is going to be reflected in my website and in the branding.  Inspired by Britian in the spring I have come with these ideas that I really like and could be incorporated? # FF6600, 2200CC, 0099CC, 8800C9, 95C900, CC7A00, CC0000, C1FF00, FFFE00, FF9700, 00CAFF, D80081 and ED9AEA.
Thanking you all for such inspiring work,
Cheers,
Cecile

I would like to thank everyone who has particpated in my logo competition. I have been very impressed with the ideas and the designs as well as the cooperation from each of the designers.  I know that you have taken time out to compete and I really appreciate that. Thank you.
It was though difficult to make the decision as the standard of work was very high and each design had something very worthy and original. I have though selected a design that makes me feel happy.  The colourful family in the heart is very uplifting and something that will engage I am sure with my audience. It is also in keeping with most of the logos of charities that work with children so I know we are on the right path.
Thank you again for your time, energy and creativity and I will be sending people to use design crowd so hopefully offering you more work in the future.
Thank you and good luck,
Cecile

Requirements
Must have
  • Much of the viewing of the website and design will be done in privacy of home so needs to be subtle. It must reflect the triad in adoption - the child, the birth parent, the adoptive parent as well as the global perspective
Nice to have
  • Would be good to have a playful/serious mix. At present I have colour ideas of lime green, pink, purple, red, yellow - if you are saying 'yucch' to this that is OK too!!
Should not have
  • Realistic pictures of children.
