We are a Norwegian centre for X-ray imaging that needs a logo for our centre. We are located at four different geographical places in Norway (Oslo, Trondheim, Bergen and Tønsberg)
Official name:
Norwegian Centre for Nanoscale X-ray Tomography (NEXT)
We are using X-ray to create 3D images of everything from small insects, teeth, bone, fossils, semi conductors.
X-ray imaging technology including tomography has developed rapidly over the last decade. The technical revolution, where the spatial resolution is currently down to tens of nanometers, and the temporal resolution below one microsecond has opened the door to answer many research questions that otherwise would have been difficult to address. New high-performance and efficient hardware as well as methods and analysis routines have contributed to this step change, which has led to a enormous increased use and is increasingly applied across most disciplines of the natural sciences, including physics, biology, materials, dentistry, medicine, engineering, nanotechnology and geology.
Imaging has become central to today’s international biomedical discoveries that more than 70% of all high-impact biosciences publications rely on advanced light microscopy techniques. It is expected that non-destructive X-ray imaging will gain similar importancy importance as it has features which light microscopy techniques is not able to perform. X-ray imaging technologies have become technically so advanced and made it difficult for single institution to purchase a world-leading imaging infrastructure covering all technologies required by its scientists to remain at the forefront of their research.
