T-shirt Design Brief
We need a commemorative t-shirt designed for a cooking competition featuring barbecue restaurants in Houston, Texas.
The general themes are fire and smoke. It is a "throwdown" meaning there is a vigorous competition element to the event.
The front of the shirt should include some representation of the words "Houston BBQ Throwdown!" All letters may be capitalized, but BBQ must be capitalized and prominent. The year "2018" should be included somewhere. Figurative images may include flame(s), cooking utensils such as knives, and possibly "fighting" or "throwdown" type images such as boxing gloves. The design should fit in the central part of the front of the shirt, do not expand to the sides of the shirt or the shirtsleeves.
The back of the shirt should include details about the event and should be mostly if not all text. Similar to a music festival t-shirt where the bands are listed on the back. It should be in a block in the center of the shirt, not on the edges or shirtsleeves.
The event details are: "2018 Houston BBQ Throwdown!"
Participants to be listed are:
Beaver's
Blood Bros. BBQ
Buck's Barbeque Co
Daddy Duncan's BBQ
Eaker Barbecue
El Burro & the Bull
Feges BBQ
Harlem Road Texas BBQ
Khoi Barbecue
My Yard Reaction BBQ
Tejas Chocolate + Barbecue
The Pit Room
Tin Roof BBQ
Victorian's Barbecue
They should generally be in alphabetical order.
Also include the website address on the back of the shirt: houbbq.com. This should be relatively prominent, probably in slightly larger text.
This should be designed as a one or two light color print on a dark t-shirt: for example dark gray (charcoal or dark heather) or dark blue (royal blue). Dark red or yellow may also work.
The design should be figurative and dynamic and not include any literal pictures of things.
A copy of the logo we use for the event is included. It provides an idea of a similar scheme, but we would like the t-shirt to be different from this. We have also included some examples of t-shirt designs that we like.
