Logo Design Brief

Hammond Handspun & Wool Arts will be a vendor at the Dickens Christmas Fair (San Francisco, CA area), demonstrating making yarn on a spinning wheel, and selling skeins of yarn and art quilts made from handpun and felted wool. The setting is London 1850, and while not a true historic reenactment, it comes close. See www.dickensfair.com.

A logo or advertising badge fitting the early Victorian era (1840-1860) is needed for use on small printed labels, business cards, tags, postcard advertising. I may be interested in having a rubber stamp made.

Design Criteria:
• era-appropriate font(s)
• decorative lines, scrolls, geometric shapes typical to the era
• the image of a sheep or spinning wheel may be used but no images of yarn
• colors - black with paris /emerald green accents, with the option to print in one color. A sample of the green is attached.
• it is critical that the design fits the 1840-60 era. William Morris design is a good model (example attached)-- even though much of his work was 1870-80. Think British Empire not American West.
• Emphasize the name Hammond - it was common in that era's graphic design
