furthermore, red hearts are everywhere, and I feel that it would got lost easily were we to stick to tradition.  Purple heart is the only other colour I would consider at this time.

Please not Gold isn''t an option in the brief so I only had yellow as an example, but feel free to try different golds.  I think the bronze/mustard golds look the most masculine.                                                    

You are right about the red. It will not only get lost among other red heart logos, but a red heart also speaks more "health" rather than anything about fashion :)

I submitted a version for de your Project. I tried conveying the elements mentioned in brief giving a spin to the animal/heart idea. Any feedback would be appreciated and I'll gladly work more to improve any part of the design.

Nice design concept for the winner, but I researched "Lion Heart" under the images tab on Google search engine and found the following images that have already been in existence for quite some time. This winning image and a few others I have noticed are similar to the following graphic art work.

As an artist, I know other artists look around for fresh inspiration and they usually will make derivatives of other people's work; knowing as long as they have a certain amount of it changed up, it won't be considered plagiarism.

Observing and comparing the winning piece with other artist's work that has been out there already, I'd say it resembles some of these by about 50% and other's less than 50%. Still, The basic concept has already been done, just with a different style/look. Nice, smooth flowing design, but not original.

Regardless of all of that, congrats to the winner and the company for choosing their new logo that fits pretty well.
