Logo Design Brief

We need a logo designed for an outdoor clothing and apparel brand. The brand specialises in trekking and outdoor wear and gear. The name Kokoda comes from the Kokoda Trail, a notorious track in Papua New Guinea during World War Two. You can see a map of this trail from google. We like the colours black, white and red. We also like logos similar to The North Face where a feature is worked in with the text. We don't know what direction to take the logo in, but a minimalist logo, possibly with the line of the kokoda track incorporated into the logo would be good, or the mountainous terrain, and either the text "Kokoda" only, or "Kokoda Gear" with the latter being preferred, but if the former is nicer for the design that is fine too. A couple of logos attached that look nice. Needs to look good in white and black due to the differing nature of products. Red is a nice touch too.

A couple of submissions have involved actual gears in the logo, this is pretty amusing. I'm open to it as some of the efforts look rather good
