Logo Design Brief
We need a logo design for a new company in Australia called Loremaker. We make highly fashionable and practical clothing for motorcycle riders that are more than just the standard 'black jacket, black gloves' setup. These clothes and accessories are Instagram-Pinterest-want-to-wear-any-and-all-the-time-worthy!
Our brand name, asides being a play on words with Lawmaker (someone in charge), is also about the meaning of Lore and the making of it. Lore is essentially knowledge, beliefs, and the accumulation of them. In this instance, our brand, Loremaker, is about the rider and the knowledge he/she has about the road, their motorcycle, the journey ahead and the belief that it can be enjoyed and enhanced through high fashion and accessories that set them apart as an individual riding their beast.
Our logo needs to convey this meaning whilst maintaining a playful, yet serious tone. We are looking at something that has a darkly playful, somewhat evil tone to the logo (think Harlequin/jester-esque feel - it has to be cool!) yet at the same time doesn't illustrate that the brand is specifically about motorcycles (i.e. don't put a motorcycle in the logo!) as we may look to expand into cars in the future.
We have also experimented with different uses and designs of an eye that more-or-less was (at the beginning) the Egyptian Eye of Horus, as the centre-piece of the logo. We would like the design to have something similar so that we could put that centrepiece on smaller areas that a fully detailed logo won't fit. For example, on the back of a glove, instead of printing the full Loremaker logo, if we had a recognisable centre-piece that was part of the original logo, we'd prefer to print that on the glove area instead.
Also, to keep in mind and probably the most important point - motorcycles are ridden by everybody! So chances are if you can't see both an 18y.o male and 80y.o male riding with that same logo on due to it's 'look', then it might need some fine tuning....
Use colour (but keep that dark feeling...)!
Think 'a screw loose'.
Rough around the edges and a bit strange....
Thanks!

Requirements
Must have
- Some form of centrepiece that can be recognised and used on it's own where a full-sized logo won't fit.
- Reference the uploaded picture for inspiration - a dark jester. We initially were playing around with having the words in the shape of his evil eyes, putting one eye in the middle of the words and having a similar dark hat above the words with the darker sinister-esque colours.
Nice to have
- Strong centrepiece themed around a 'different' eye.
Should not have
- Nothing that implies that it is specifically about motorcycles.
